MONOPRINTS

Each Monoprint and Monotype is a unique image. Basically it is a drawing with paint or ink on a non absorbent flat surface, usually a metal or Plexiglas plate. This plate is then run through the printing press which transfers the ink to a sheet of paper (in reverse).  Most of my monoprints and monotypes have been through the press multiple times (or drops), layering ink and plates on a single piece of paper. Using various "Photopolymer" plates (like photo etched plates) in addition to inked monoprint plates, and collaged elements (referred to as chine collé), each print eventually emerges as a unique image, hence the name "Monoprint" or "Monotype". Please inquire here to learn more about a piece you’re interested in.
